Default PICS: Detailing + Work on SOM t/a

You don't have to read it all but theres a lot of details, check out the pics tell me what you think:

Well, I was on break from school and wanted to make my car show quality. I did all the small things such as detailing everything, painting my nostrils, painted calipers, painted rotors, painted front and rear suspension, and also the inner surfaces of my rims. Here's some pics of stuff I did. My neighbors probably think im crazy as I put this much work into the car and it already looked great, but it was well worth it to me. My sister helped wash the Z while I did the t/a so thats got some pics there. We did nxt wash, and turtle wax black wax.

For detailing I did: Wash with nxt wash, claybar, meguiars step 1 cleaner, 2 layers of meguiars step 2 polish, 2 layers of nxt which I allowed to cure. The car looked phenomenal to start with but I just wanted to make sure to squeeze out every last bit and get it protected with some wax. It definentally looks a little bit more reflective and vibrant in the sunlight.

Rims before:

Finished rims and brakes:

Before Clay,cleaner,polish,wax:

After Clay, cleaner, polish wax:

Before of both cars:

After of them:

Looks like you did a good job looks great. What did you use and how did you paint the inner part of your rims? Does it make them look better?

I love the color, the calipers, and the wheels, but for the life of me I cant get into that hood on any 'bird regardless of the rest of the car. Even though it isn't my cup of tea in that area, keep up the good work man.

Brakes: Anodized Orange Metalcast by duplicolor

Rims: They were pitted and cracking on the interior surfaces, the outter chrome is pristine but slp cheaped out on the inner surface. That was a very hard job.
I scrubed the rims very good to get all the grime off, then got all the chipped surface off with a paint scraper, wire wheel on a drill, and other methods, cleaned, sanded with 320, masked (This is very tricky) and painted with 4-5 coats krylon glossy black. It makes the rims look a lot better than they did, kind of like the 35th anniversary rims that have the black painting with a polished surface (not sure if this is what they are called). It really makes the chrome stand out against a black.

Very nice you missed a spot though. The area towards the back of the T-tops. Theres a lip there with an overhang. If you fold your towel/aplicator pad and wedge it in there you can get the dirt/wax or whatever out of there.

Im with you josh99ta. I never could get into that hood, but I like it on that car. I usually like the Raptor hood more than the SLP HO, but that looks really good.
