I think it's important to use the right tool for the job. I own a buffer and a PC. I use the buffer to remove wax, but not to polish. I use the PC to polish and apply glaze, but not to remove wax. A buffer just doesn't have the torque that a polisher does, and can't generate the heat to work in the materials like a polisher does.

They really are two different things. Even though they use the same motion, they're different tools. It would be like using a wrench to drive in nails. It will work, but a hammer works much better.

I wasn't trying to be condescending. Sorry if it came across that way.

Here's a link to a site that explains a lot about how to use a PC. I just bought one and haven't acquired the appropriate pads and polish yet, but that'll come before too long. My black car really needs some TLC...

And this is their how-to library for car care.

It's going to be great fun to bring back my shine!
