Just finished detailing a '86 El Camino
My grandfather just bought this car as he loves them. I think they're pretty slick looking as well. It had been garage kept so the paint was in fairly good condition but had tons of light scratches all over and the paint was dull as hell. So, I spent 8 hours over the past two days doing wash/claybar/wash/polish/wax and holy S does it look completely different. The car looks brand spankin new now (to the detriment of my shoulder). Anyway, I thought I'd post up some pics to anyone who might be interested (whether in the car itself or just in the final result). It was raining all day so I had to take pics in the garage without the sun out so I tried to put as many lights on as possible to capture the reflections as best as possible. Enjoy

Looks great. I think El Caminos are cool. They're a guy down the road from me that has a gold one that looks like it might be the same year as yours. He never drives it, it just sits there in front of his house. I was thinking about asking him if he wants to sell it. Then again, that's all I need is another car sitting in the driveway.

Weird you mention that, my gramps had a gold one that he sold a couple years ago. Could be the same one But yea, I really dig their styling (and the fact that they had the option of a 350cid engine, which this one has ). My gramps has had about 4, this being his 5th. They're small enough to tool around town but can haul stuff if you need it.
