Default Do i wash after clay barring if I am compounding?

Car is washed and I am fixing to clay bar and then compound, polish, glaze, wax with pc. Do I need to wash after claying but before compounding? Seems redundant plus it is raining and it would be hard to wash and dry. Thanks in adavance.

Yes I would. Claying tends to leave some residue and you dont want to go rubbing that in with the PC IMO.

I agree, the clay bar will pick up most of the contaminants, but there will still be some dirty residue left on the 'lube' you used. Give it a once over again with a good wash, and you will be ready to polish etc...

What exactly are you considering "compound"? I don't think your car's paint could merit anything more than an abrasive polish.
