Default Carpet dash cover for Trans Am?

Does anybody have one? How do you like them? I want to cut down on some glare, and hopefully avoid cracking.

I've never seen a cracked dash from a LT1 or LS1 F-body, unless it was in an accident.

my friend has one on his LT1, looks fine, doesnt stand out or anything... but has anybody else heard this, that dash mats actually increase the risk of dash cracks due to heat being trapped under the mat?

I'm talking about the little cracks that show up in the vinyl (I could just use lots of protectant on it I guess), but more than anything that dash is big, and soaks up lots of heat in the summer. Does anybody have any pics?

If the heat is absorbed by the mat instead of reflecing it and keeping it off, it should protect the dash. Besides, if you think about it, rapid heating and cooling cycles is what cracks things, even if the heat were trapped, I would think it would be ok...

Use a sun visor for the windshield, not a carpet for the dash.
