So im going to be getting my red RX7 repainted this summer and was looking for some of your suggestions on the best red out there. This includes non-oem paints w/ candy's etc. Pics would be appreciated if possible

CKZ picked out the hands down best red i have ever seen. only the jams are painted right now but ill try and get some picks. Candy Hellfire Red i think its called.

I have been thinking about this too, I was thinking of dark orange close to Sunset orange.. Lexus has a sweet red metallic on the new IS cars, may check that out..

I think the OEM paint on the new M3's and Audi's is the best red out there. If I was going to do a color change on my Black car it would be between that and SOM.

Both would look sick on the RX7 though!!!

Thanks, this gives me an excuse to go down to BMW and drive a new M5 :p...all in the name of checking out the M3 red.

Will do guys, i called BMW and they said to come on down tomorrow morning and i could drive the M5 and check out a red M3 they have. That dealer is right next to Lexus so i will check that out while im there and maybe take a few pics.

Suprised no one has suggested any of the red paints from HOK, i kinda liked the idea of a Red w/ gold/red candy, i just cant remember what other car ive seen this on.

I like the tangelo orange, but havent seen any reds on cars, I have been aiming on hitting the paint store to scope samples. They have them online, but that doesnt tell much...

Cant do Marlboro Red (ferrari red ftw) its big big $$$ for paint, at least it was when my uncle got his Aston Martin painted in it (dont ask me why he chose a ferrari paint on an aston)

Tangelo Orange is a cool color, unfortunately F&F ruined it (thats the color the Supra in the 1st one was)

Never was aware the supra was tangelo.. still badass.... I found a sweet cinnamon(sp) metallic color I think from HOK that was nice..

Porche's red is really nice. I think it is a Spies Hecker paint though = $$$$. My buddy painted his big block buick 83' regal Guardsman Red = the brightest, "clearest" , nicest looking red (solid- non-metallic) I have ever seen. I don't know the specs on it. Ask around for it.

Guardsman Red is my recommendation.

viper red is one of the most true reds I have seen as for me I took a friends advice and painted mine Porsche guards red. If I had to do it over again I would do viper red I had it on the front of my 93 vette and got nothing but compliments on the paint. candy colors look good but dont hold up very well from the uv rays, but if your car is garaged then no need to worry I'd go with RM CARIZZMA http://www.carizzmacolors.com/ cuzz 400 candy 4 coats over cuzz 300 basecoat looks awsome did my motorcycle with it. thats my 2 cents
