Default Installing new window motors????

Is there anything I need to know about installing a new power window motor???? I heard some people saying that you need some sort of template for drilling out the rivets,,,, is this true.... I am going over my buddys house to install both of them tonight,,,, any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is nothing there about power window motors...........Nice website though. Anyone else have any info??????

assuming its the same as the lt1s take off the door panel and you can look at where the rivets are with an inspection mirror. take a 1/2 inch bit and drill where you think the rivets are. if done right you will expose the head and drill it out. check out shbox.com for a write up with pics

i just did mine......and it was a pain in the ***! i bought my window motors from napa autoparts and they had a picture showing which rivets to drill out.

My buddy just finished his windows,,, I helped him with his drivers side,,, it was easy,,, he said the passenger side was even easier after doing the first one.... 45 minutes a door.

Gloves! Those SMC fibers cuts up your hands bad. Also, get something to blow all the stuff out/off of your door afterwards.

as far as following instructions, the install was ez.. pictures helped alot finding the rivets. I didnt run into anything that could "cut" me so I dont know about that, and about holding the window up with something, I did... but I didnt haft to. 3 boltz/nutz l8r... done!.. test it with the car ON, it'll move alot better, then just on aux.

i can do it in about 10 min each side lol lets juist say eveytime one goes out they come to me lol
