does clay bar remove wax?

I do, I think the idea of the clay bar is to remove the contaminents and a good polish or wax will fill-in the areas that had crap in them, my rear bumper was like sand and now its like glass.

Claying the car removes the wax on the car, so you don't want to clay it unless you're going to be applying some sort of protection afterwards.
Add one more member to the '320 grit' rear bumper club! I can have the car spotless and then do nothing more than pull the car into the garage and the back bumper looks like I drove 10 miles.

I know the feeling. I usually wash my car, dry it, and then broom the watter to the end of the street so I don't back over it, put my stuff away * buckets and hoses ) then drive the car up and down a few times, blowing some watter out of the cracks. And when I get back theres black road grim over the rear bumper...
