I got the same problem. Best thing I found was I use TurtleWax's black polish. before my Zanio. I apply it the same way that I would the zanio polish in an up n down motion. 75% of all the minor nicks vanish. Top it off with some zanio and you're good to roll.

we really need a karma system on this forum, my old mazda forum had one and you could give karma to nice people that gave good advice and helped showing who was good and who was bad.

Using any type of wax that does not leave a white residue (like old fashioned waxes) will make the chips less visible. When the wax dries in the chips and leaves the white residue it only serves to make the chips even more visible. It's almost impossible when buffing to get all the wax residue out of the chips.

I had the same thing on the front bumper, and around the back sides of the wheel wells.
This solution isn't cheap, but it worked for me. I bought the perfect shine kit from Autopia and also the Dual Action polishing kit.
I did all the steps, wash, clay, wash, 3 steps of polish with the DA polisher, wax, and then sealant. The main steps that took out the rock chips though were the first two steps of polish with the DA polisher.
