Default Quick question on Dust and black cars

Alright, well I was just wondering for you guys with nice black paint jobs, what do you use to wipe off the dust that builds up on your f-bod. For me, im in a shitty situation, the garage I keep my car in is LOADED with junk and DUST. Ill have it washed and waxed one day and the next day or 2 it will have a layer of dust on it. Im gonna be getting a cover for it soon but I wanted to know if I go lightly over it with a micro fiber towel, will it scratch it? Never done it before cause I was afraid of scratching it With black paint, i know you see EVERYTHING, and i keep my paint looking as best as I can. I usually wash it every few days. Should I not even bother whipping the dust off and go buy a cover immediately?

I wouldn't dry dust it. A microfiber towel and some quick detailing spray or even water would do well.

The Pakshak detailing towels I bought recently have different nap on each side. Something else you could try is using two towels, one wet (using the deep nap) to dust and one dry (use the shallow nap) to keep water spots from happening. Distilled water would also help, since it will not have the mineral deposits that cause spotting.

California Car Company duster. Works great for me. Why don't you use detail spray? I use it all the time to get off bugs and spots between washes and at car shows.

I always use a high quality detail spray on a micro-fiber. Some of the cheaper stuff leaves a residue, which will only add static and attract more dust. Be sure you have a strong base of polish on her, too.

I use the California Car Duster. I'm pretty sure it's what you need. Here are some pics.

+1 for the duster, i use a micro fiber one. works wonders with pollen though a good dust cover is what you need as even the lightest of dusting is prone to cause mirco marring sooner or later.

if it's pollen, I'd just wash it. last time i tried to dust 1 day of pollen off my bumper it scratched it a bit.

of course, i have a black car.

As long as you never use the duster after driving the car or if it's been in the sun you won't have the wax streaks that give the "bad" experiences.

I dust my 'Hawk right when I roll out from the garage while waiting for the coolant to warm up while the car idles.
