if the hugger orange paint is still nice, sell it to someone with a hugger orange car. they would probably give you more than $400 and then you go and buy a brand new LS6 intake from SLP. problem solved :-D

get some gel stripper, I believe Lowe's sells some called superstrip. Brush it on, and let it sit for 30 minutes. The orange paint should wrinkle up, and it shouldn't be too hard to get 95% of it off with a plastic scraper and sponge. You also want to wear some really thick oven cleaning gloves. That crap will eat latex gloves. After you are able to get most of it off, hose the intake off, dry, sand & paint black!

Little clarification on the aircraft stripper, don't let it sit too long on the plastic. I think it says like 10-15, make it 2-3 minutes and wash it off. May take multiple coats but that seems to work well and doesn't damage the composite material in any way.

Don't know what you were using but regular aircraft stripper is the best stuff out there for taking paint off. I 've used probably 3 gallons of it in the past 2 years or so and it's the best I've ever seen.
