Default Difference between Porter Cable and Meguiars?

Want to buy one, but not sure which one. Are they the same? PC 7224 or whatever, and the Meguiar's G100. Which one is the easiest to use, or do they both have to change the back plate thing, etc.? Too lazy to search right now.

Hi Matt, i am biased in this one because i am a Tropi-care distributor and we sell the porter cable buffer of which i use all the time. I haven't used the Meguair one but if you decide on the Porter Cable one i can give you some tips and help you get one.

I'm pretty sure Meguiars just relabels the PC 7224...unless they greatly extend the warranty, I couldn't see paying $225 for a relabeled PC that you can get at Lowes for $110...just my .02

Looks an awful lot like the PC, I'd definately go with the PC for ~ $100, then get the backing plate and the pads seperately
On the PC you' have to remove the stock backing plate and install the more flexible one, but that should be the only change you'll need to make

Amazon sells that Meguiars one for $149. It definately looks like a relabled PC. I'd go with the Porter name.

The Meguiar buffer does come with a lifetime warrenty and the PC does not. That is the main difference I know of.

as stated above, the meg's G100 comes with a lifetime warranty, and the backing plate included. there is also a bit of a difference in the counterwieght, but not enough to notice .. I have one of the G100's and a couple of the PC's .. just find the best deal, and jump on it.

Meg's occasionally puts theirs on sale, as do some of the other places.. so shop around.
