You dont use VHT on the headlights. VHT shines through as red. If you want to "tint" your headlights, do the Whistler mod. If you dont know what it is use the search and you will find tons of answers and how to's.

VHT doesn't only shine through as red. The taillights will come out red, the reverse lights are a white, and the turn signals are amber. VHT is tranlucent so any color lens behind the paint will shine through as it's original color. I have heard that it significantly reduces the headlight output, though.

I did the same thing to my black Camaro, except I left the headlights alone...nice job!

Go spray it on your headlights and then tell us what hue you see shining through.

Bottom line. DONT use VHT on your headlights.

I like it. All except the spoiler. I'd also suggest if you're going all black to get black wheels as well. Some black C5 Z06's would look good with big 315's out back and 275's in the front. I'd also probably pull the nose emblem off as it breaks up that "all black" look.

You also need to look at whats legal in your state. My reflectors are unpainted to keep it legal. Put to much VHT on and it wont shine any color thru at all and then your feked. Do it in layers and check it out before you go to far. The law is pretty specific about safety equiptment. Tail lights need to be seen for 500 ft and so do reflectors as well brake lights and backup lights. To much black isnt legal so be careful.

wtf are u talking about? vht is a translucent paint, so what ever color light is behind is what shines through, ive done numerous cars with it, and never had anything but the bulb color shine through

if u want a black nose emblem, get an overlay from brent, i just got mine and it looks nice, black and white

did u clear ur headlights and tails? looks like u may need to wet sand them a lil

It is semi translucent paint and when applied to much will be to black for legal use. Read the can:
6. Apply just enough to change lens color.. Do not exceed more than 3 coats or light may not show through.

I did the write up in the sticky up top. And most of the lights shine through their color. However, my reverse lights have an almost purple tint to them now when theyre on. So it does slightly alter the color of the light.

if you apply too much VHT, you can CAREFULLY wet-sand the lens, and you get a nice smoked effect without it looking like you coated the lens... the only area that you cannot wet-sand very well is inside the raised DOT lettering, and the edges of those 'nipples' on some of the lenses (headlights)

I wet sanded mine and then clear coated them. If you put to much paint on it isnt coming back off and you need a new set of tail lights. I did two coats wet sanded them and then clear coated them. The picture was taken in full direct sunlight. They are darker than they look.
