Default Advice on changing DRL's to red

Could I change my Daily Driving Lights to red??? I mean, I realize its illegal and everything. I doubt cops would really notice though, I just want to get rid of the yellow stock look. Maybe even just get clear bulbs for it.
I'm thinking maybe I could just buy new bulbs and paint them with red nail polish or something.....where can I buy the bulbs at???
Thanks guys!

You can probably just buy the bulbs at Pepboys. They have all different color bulbs. I think you will get pulled over though unless you live in an area where the cops are too busy with real criminals. You also won't pass a state inspection if your state has one. Believe me, clear or red DRL's will be noticable.

You might not get pulled over. Instead, some drunk might try to "follow" your red lights home. That would be even better!

If youre going to get colored bulbs, make sure you buy ones with red glass and not just red coated or painted. Theyll fade in NO TIME as DRL's and turn pink.

I'd go with a clear lens and a hyperwhite light...but my car is green. I think the red would look awesome on a black car...def gonna get pulled to the side at nght though!

My DRLs arent red but my front sidemarkers are. It aint a big deal at least with the ones I have, since they are so small.

I was just looking at bulbs in that section, and all I remember seeing for that type was clear and amber. No red.
Besides, putting tail lights on your front bumper is a bad idea.

Why not use LEDs, best color output as far as red or white! Double check on what color your local law enforcement has on its light bars. Most of the smokeys here in CFL just have blue lights!

City Cops don't notice. Township cops, Village of (insert name here) cops, County Sherriffs and State Bloopers notice. No tickets here, just warnings so far. They just ask me to turn off the red light moving back and forth. If you do decide to do it, wire up a switch so if you see a cop, you can kill the red lights. Or if you are too late, flip the switch and he'll probably just check to make sure they are off if you tell them they are switched off. Or just flip the lights off and deny everything. Tell the cop he's seeing things. LOL.

For those interested, I was at Autozone today and they have direct LED replacement bulbs for the DRL's. they have the exact same connector and there are like 8 Ultrabright LED's on each bulb/light. It was $16.99 for the pair. On the back of the package it list what part numbers that they are a replacement for. I picked them up at lunch, so I won't be able to put them on till i get home. i will post pics tonight if I get a chance.

Running red side markers on the front here too... Noone even notices... now if they were BLUE... then yeah you'd be pulled over fast. Around here red, white, amber... noone cares. Just keep anything resembling blue lights off.
