Question Corvette C5 Brakes

This is pretty trivial, and I'm installing them anyway, but I was wondering if you guys thought it was "Rice" or posing to have front brakes with the word "Corvette" blazened across them. This is the UMI C5 front brake kit. I always thought it was just saying that I have Corvette brakes, not that I think my Trans Am is a Corvette. What do you guys think? Would you feel uncomfortable having these brakes on your car, strictly from an appearance stand point. Thanks.

hell no
thats sick IMO, tell people that you upgraded to some bad *** brakes.....and that they are made by the same company!...OR paint over the lettering to match the color of the caliper and you wont even see it...pimpin

Appreciate your feedback! I think they're going to look great too. I was looking at the black "Corvette" calipers on Tony's C6, and they look amazing. I've tried to keep my car sleeper-looking, and understated, and I was hoping these C5 calipers wouldn't be too far over the top. It's a no-brainer really cause I need the stopping power anyway. Thanks.

I think it looks good and does not resemmble a "ricer" look in any way. I get lots comments on mine when I pull into a gas station..to a lot of people a Corvette is the God of automobiles so to see something on your car that is from a Corvette they are amazed. Below is a few pictures of my car with them installed and Jerry a employee's white SS. Since the Corvette brake upgrade is also a performance upgrade rather then just show only makes it even more of a non-ricer look, thats if you do complete set-up and not just calipers.

Just a thought, I am in the same boat you are and decided to grind the letters down smooth, paint over them, and apply a Trans Am decal to them. They look like they came factory on the car and the stopping difference is wonderful.

They look awesome Ryan. Thanks for the pics! I always thought they looked great, and I'm happy I bought them, just kind of curious what the rice haters thought.

Trent, either way is a winner to me. Maybe you could post a pic or two if you have time. I'm staying with them as is, but I'd like to see how yours look.

Thanks.

I have C5 brakes and rotors. I feel if you chnge to a true Corvette brake system, them you leave the Corvette on them to show its real, not just a caliper change. Here is what mine looks like.

Looks great, thanks for the pics!

I was thinking the same thing: the "Corvette" logo represents a Vette brake system, not that I'm a Corvette wanabee (even though I am). lol

Thanks again!

I get nothing but compliments on mine. And they're easy to see through the C6/Z06 wheels!

OK...I'll pretend it doesn't have a Corvette engine, transmission, brakes, and wheels. I'm going out right now to grind the word Corvette off the calipers. Then, I'm spray painting over the little Corvette logos on the hub caps.

Wow...I'm glad I wasn't embarassed by driving out in public like that!!

If you put C5 caliper son your car and grind off the letters they then look like plain old stock brakes . . . It's not like you are posing, cause they are real C5 brakes . . .

But heck I'm biased with mine!
