Default Removing front turn signals - TA

I would like to remove my front turn signals so that I can apply VHT nite-shades to them.

Any help on how to remove them is appreciated.

is it the round style or the weird triangle style?not sure if there is a difference but theres an access panel i believe its a 10mm to open the panel.then reach in and remove the bulb and connector first so it doesnt get in the way.i have the round setup and its 3 nuts 11mm loosen them you dont have to fully remove them.once all 3 are loose it will pop right out.

It's the Trans Am front end, so it is somewhat of a triangular shape, not the round bulbs like the ones on the Formula.

How do you get to the 3 nuts? When I popped the hood, there didn't seem to be any way to reach down that far.

T/A...if its a newer model, the EASIEST way, is prolly to go from underneath. there is a little "door if you will on each side. thats prlly the easiest way, but i wouldnt call it easy. its still a very confined space and hard to work with. trust me....the access door is mainly for changing turning lights, but has better access then removing the lights and so forth. you almsot HAVE to freaking take the lights out to make it that easy. and that in itself...is not easy....does that makes sence? i think it does. if you need help, let me know.

as i stated the access panel underneath is the only real way to get at it.10mm socket to open it.it isnt really all that hard to get at.i did mine without using a jack or anything.just reach up inside on the back of the housing is the bolts.t/a setup should be close to a formula.first one is the learning experience the 2nd housing should come out in seconds since you already know what you are up against

Alright guys, I think I'll be able to figure it out now. Thanks.

Any of you know how long this Nite-shade stuff takes to dry?

You know, for like $30 you can get a blackout kit on ebay that will cover your DRLs and your Fogs, too.

No I didn't know that, thanks for the info.

And I also don't know what DRLs are?

you can buy the GTS ones that just push in. Easy to remove and clean if needed. The rubber on the outer lip holds them in place.

Those look really good Judas, and it would cover the little crack that one of mine has.

Where did you get those from?

^ That's the way to go..... If it turns out you don't like it, then yank them and resell them.

Hmm on that page they have:

GT Styling Trans AM 98-02 Driving Light Covers - Smoke (pair) - not sure why anyone would need these

And

GT Styling Trans AM 98-02 Turn Signal Covers - Smoke (pair) - these seem to be the ticket. GS Creations also makes them, and they come with fog light pieces too, though I prefer not to cover those.

Everyone needs those.

I went with the acrylic ones on eBay. $34 for all four pieces (both fog & drl covers) shipped. I put them on a month ago and they have stayed perfectly in place since. That includes driving with them 5 hours to New Orleans, all over the horrible, bumpy, pitted streets for a week, and back again.
