Pics of my 98 Vette with new wheels
Hey guys, just picked up this 1998 Corvette about a month ago and just got it on the road this weekend. Its a 6 speed, loaded with 51,000 miles. I just lowered it, installed a Z06 TI exhaust system, painted all the brakes and installed the 18x9.5 and 19x11 Z07 wheels from CorvetteGarage. The tires are Bridegstone Potenzas - 265/35R18 and 305/30R19. I couldn't be happier with this combo. Here are some pics after a wetsand and buff job. The only things left are to tint the windows and probably a SS insert for the rear fascia. I am kinda going for the "Less is more" approach...Lemme know what you guys think!

Well, these are the "Z07" wheels, which are kinda a cross between the C5 Z06 and the C6 Z06 wheels. They are made by a company named Ace, and the model name is Slick. These wheels have the inset center area and exposed lugs similiar to the C5 Z06 wheels with C6 Z06 spokes. The new C6 Z06 wheels are completely flush with the spokes in the center area. Very similiar, but I do prefer this design, especially on a C5. Thanks for the compliments

During the process we only used 3M products as my buddy was most familiar with them. I personally didn't care as long as the finished product turned out great. Thanks again for the compliments, its come a long way since I brought it home

So out the door for 18,500, not including wheels and tires. Kelly Blue Book has it just shy of $22,000, so I think I made out pretty well.
WOW!... helluva deal man. major props on a good find, she looks very clean.

i'm kind of in the same situation with my WS6. very clean, straight body... garage kept it's whole life. however, the original owner had 5 other cars and didn't have (imo) a very deep appreciation for this one. no major blemishes, but again, seems to be a "one wax job" kinda car. it's in great shape (i've had it for just under 2 months and have spent almost every sat with rubbing compond, claybar, etc), but the paint definitely needs a lot more work before i'll be happy with it. did you do the wet sanding yourself? i'm a little afraid to undertake something like that myself, but i almost feel it's needed to get my car right where i want her.

Congrats man, you have done exactly what I want to do early next year, acquire a ~50k mile black C5 for under $20k. You have the car looking great already, keep us informed of future mods, again tip of my hat to ya
