I just bought the Formula in my sig, it was painted GM Hawiian Orchid Purple a couple years ago. Is there a way to find out the GM color code, the parts guy at my local Pontiac dealer said he has no way of getting the code # without a vin for a car originally painted that color, which was supposedly 92-96 fbodys.
I want to get some touchup paint for now and this winter get the car repainted .

The only thing I show in my GM parts catalog is "purple pearl" & the paint code is wa9926(long code) or 91u(short code)... It was the only color of purple on 93-94 f-bodies from the factory, I don't show any purple for 95-96'... Go back to the dealer & tell them to order you part#12346045, this is the touch up paint tube & see if it matches your car... Hope this helps!!!!

PS... Next time you go to the dealer & they tell you that, tell them to look in group 8.800 on their computer... This will pull up all the paint color code options & paint names for that vehicle.

That was a color on the 91-93 Cavaliers and Sunbirds. My dad had a 91 Cavalier in that color. I believe it was called a different color when it was used in the F bodies in 95 or so.

It's called Hawiian Orchid Metallic Clearcoat and the code is: 84/WA9802.

Take that code to any paint store or shop and they can mix it from that.

I thought the 92 Camaro color was called Purple Haze....or is that yet another color?!?!

The paint on this Formula doesn`t appear to have any metallic in it but I will get some of this 84/WA9802 touchup paint and see if it is the same color. I`ll also get the WA9926 touchup that MM98 talked about.
