Proper prep work is the most important aspect of detailing.

Product selection is all about personal preference, and everyone has their opinion.

*I* think Zaino products are very nice, and many people use it as a benchmark.

I think they have great products, especially their Detailing Spray.

I believe Zaino is amazing when applied on light colored cars.

I really like Tropi-Care/Menzerna on a dark colored car.

I never like Zaino, just cause everyone used it. Well, I got over my stupidity and I wouldn't use anything else anymore. Washed my car, clay bar, wash again, Tropi-care polish (or swirl cutter), then a coat of Zaino Z-2. The car feels so damn nice its crazy. I was driving home yesterday in basically a typhoon, and i was laughing cause all I see is the water sliding off the hood. when I got home, my car was completly dry and still felt awesome. If I put zaino right on my car after washing, it sucks cause its hard to move round, but if you put a coat of anything down (meguaires, antoher zaino product, tropicare), then put zaino ontop of that, you can do the whole car in no time and without using that much. Also comes off much easier. Def go for it.

It depends on what you mean by top of the line. Are you rating cost, shine, longevity, or ease of use? You will get different answers depending upon which aspect you are comparing.

I personally only use Zaino on all my cars. Yes it is time consuming the first time you claybar and all that. But once you have the product started, it is easy to use.

I used to use waxes and they were hard to apply and remove. The zaino is a cinch to use compared to them and the shine lasts a LONG time! I had not re-applied my Zaino (I am sorry to say) in almost 2 years and my car still looked great! I would use the Zaino carwash but hadn't reapplied Z2 in a while. I recently claybared and added plenty of Z5 and Z2 and the car is like a mirror! I love this stuff! (But that is just my personal opinion).

And cost is in the mid range I believe. There are definitely more expensive products out there.

For someone who is not interested in using machines to polish their rides, Zaino is at the top. Very labor intensive, but the results are great. If you are using rotary and/or obital polishers, there are other products that I prefer to use that give (IMO) better results. Just a matter of opinion to the user.

Well, my mother was so impressed w/my car, she now uses Zaino on her new Mercury Marquis, but all in personal taste! Seems like many ppl either select Zaino or the Meguiars. It just so happens, the Mercury is also Pewter.

With any detailing, as previously stated, PREP is key.

Zaino.....labor intensive
I don't understand

Claying to remove embedded contamination and polishing with an abrasive and/or cleaner to remove swirls, oxidation, etc.

It's not a national brand that you can buy at any local store. You either buy direct from Zaino or from one of their distributors.
