Default help!!! getting ready for repaint

how do you pull the front bumper off and the side panels. i am going to take all of the panels off and door to repaint becuase previous owner did poor job and didnt take car of it. looks like a 200 dollar paintjob.

well there are several bolts/clips that need to be taken off, you have to take off the black trim that is underneith the bumper, then if you look inside where you took the parts off you will see there are 2 to 3 screws where the bumper meets each fender, take those off, then take off the 3 clips holding on the bottom bumper, then there are several clips on top from fender to fender, then unbolt the top of the fenders where they meet the roof, they are 10mm bolts, then you have to open the door, there are 2 bolts holding the fender on that you have to use a 10mm gear wrench to get at. pull off the bumper cover then the fenders.

does anyone know why my clearcoat feels sticky. even after 48 hours drying it is tacky feeling

did you use enough hardener?

if i remember right thats how it feels unless it is really really tacky, you might try wetsanding it see if that helps.

NO!!!!! do not wet sand if its tacky let it dry

well if he has let it sit for a day or 2 and it is still tacky then hes going to have to take it off and redo it anyways so wetsanding probably wont hurt, it might even help.

Too much hardner will slow the dry time too.

after i put clear on it still has some texture from the black. how can i get rid of that . i know i am not supposed to sand the black and get rid of the texture becuase then i guess the clear wont stick. what are the steps for sure

once you put the clear on your screwed, if the texture is in the paint then there is nothing to do but take if all off and re-do it, wetsanding might help out some but wont make it perfect. Did you wetsand the paint before you shot the clear? you should wetsand with a 1500 grit to get out all of the small imperfections in the paint.
