Default want to paint car

hello, im getting a friend to repaint my black z28 gunmetal metallic soon. my question is this, its really freaking hot here, around 102 during the day. it drops to 80 at night tho. could we do most/all prep work during the day and just spray it at night? would that be ok, or is 80 still a little hot?

80 degrees is not too hot. Really its the humidity that matters.

I thought your buddy was a professional painter, shouldn't he know all this before you trust your car to him? Anywho, I painted my car in a 90degree 2 car garage with ~70% humidity, and it turned out fine, but the guy that helped me, and practicly painted the car himself, knew what he was doing.

just slow down your reducers according to temp. i have painted a car in a booth at 105 degrees before. Just used a really slow reducer and added about 10% more than normally and it came out like glass. No worries, just have to bear the heat.

Thats what I do. But I would wear some sort of suit or at least a hat. I don't know about you guys, but in this heat (let alone in a closed shop) I sweat...a lot. And little droplets of sweat do NOT go well with fresh paint .
