I'm intersted as well...looks like two bolts directly underneath the center of the bumper are no longer there. I'm going to a dealership tofigure out what bolts they are. Hopefully I can pull up on the bumper and screw them into place.

yeah, you can order the rear bumper brackets from gm and the clip into the rear cover on each side. for mine i ordered new clips and brackets for the entire bumper cover just to be on the safe side. the down part about this to put the brackets in your going to have to take off the rear cover or be carefull and work one side at a time. and if you get all new clips the rear body valanace has to come off to get 3 of them in. i strongly reccommend buying all new hardware because the clips afterwhile will tend to wear and you might as well replace it all at once so that you dont have problems later on.

I personally have not removed the bumper support, but the previous owner may have.

How much does the brackets and hardware go for from GM?

unfortunatly if it ends up being that the bumper has deformed from heat/sun exposure the only way to fix it is to buy a new bumper. I had this problem on one of my old cars.

there's also studs on each side of the bumper. down where the spare tire is and 1 on the other side. i think its a 10 mm or 12 mm nut.

Yes I tried loosening them and pushing the bumper up then tightening them but that didn't help.

Are there any bolts from underneath the car?

no underneath the car is a bunch of gms cheap @$$ clips. they are just there to hold the bottom up and in not to keep the top up. theres like metal retainers on the sides of the covers that also hold it up. but the other thing is, is that like said above the heat could have warped the plastic and its deformed some. like i said for me personally im just buying a new cover(i need it though and ill have a spare) and all new hardware. try replacing your bumper cover hardware before anything else. let my know what you want prices on and ill get them for you.

Do you think taking it all apart then putting it back together while holding it flush in place would do the trick?

if you take it apart you will also see if the plastic is warped in any way. if the plastics warped you need a new cover. if not new hardware should do the trick

Is this only common on cars with the supports removed or does it still happen with them in? Reason I'm asking is because I want to take my supports out, but not if it's gonna make my car's *** look saggy. My car doesn't sit out in the sun either so that isn't a problem.
