Default Rear view mirror

Hey guys, I wasnt sure where to put this so I stuck it here. I had strip of limo tint put on the top of the windshield yesterday and when they put the rear view mirror back on I guess they didnt do a good job. The piece stuck to the windshield stays on, but the rest of the mirror just slides off when I hit a bump or rumble strips. Any way for me to fix this myself or do I have to go back to them?

Yeah...push it down till it snaps on. There is a little bump that locks into the metal piece that's glued to the windshield. You might have to pull fairly hard to make it seat into place. You should be able to look at it from the outside and see that it's not fully seated.

Are you crazy I have owned an autoglass shop for 10 years and have been in the glass business for 15 years. I have seen thousands of broken windshields from people messing with their rear view mirrors..The glass is tough from the outside in but not the inside out. Trust it can break easily. Was just giving friendly advice on what not to do,But your a glass pro and you say it cant break then I bet your right...

I didn't mean reef on the damn thing. Just push it down on the bracket till it snaps. It takes a little pressure but not enough to break the glass.

Depends on the mirror design. Older ones did have a torx set screw but newer ones have a snap design with no set screw. I know on my Sonoma the Blazer auto dim mirror was a snap on style. I thought the Camaro was the same.
