my ws6 progress so far
well im primed up and ready to paint it, hopefully do it later today after it cools down, this is going on my 94 lt1. I f-ing love the 98+ws6 look. All in all cost about 1400 but i got back about 900 so far selling the parts ive taken off and i still have the old bumper and hood to sell. so far its cost me about 500 bucks to do the conversion.
im painting on some blackbird stripes and some drivers side fender stripes, they are painted silver.

no thats the blackbird stripes underneith, i allready laid down the silver, then put the decal over it now prime it and paint it, then pull the stripes off and bingo, silver blackbird stripes. then you sand the paint down so there is no layers or anything like that, then clear coat it.

ok i just thought you bought a ram air hood and still had the stickers on it, well looks good so far. and i trick ive learned if you're painting in likea garage or something is spray water all over the floor like 15 min b4 you go 2 paint this will keep trash out of the paint or atleast alot of it. there is always some..

haha, no the side skirts had to come off to pull the fenders, and are sitting in my garage right now, im debating on painting them silver to see how they would look, and the pass side has a tear in the underside of it so im thinking about getting another side skirt. I also have some 17" zr1's going on that i bought for 400 bucks with tires. Im also going to do the ceta mod in silver also.

Yeah do the ceta black for rear continuity.
The stripes may be silver in the front but if you look at the tail lights there is a gloss black center filler. Also get some honeycomb tail lights if you don't already to continue the 98+ look. Oh and silver gfx on TAs seemed to disappear after the 80s for a reason. Only my opinion on the look but it sounds like a good project you have going and it is yours more importantly. Post pics when its done.

all right my high rise hatch is gonna be here tomorrow, but it looks like the paint is a tad darker then the rest of the car, but then again i havent cleared it yet so it might lighten up, but im going to have to put all the pieces on the car and blend them into the doors so it will match up better.

yeah that probably would have worked too, but i only sprayed a small amount of primer after i laid down the decals, i primered, sprayed silver, laid down decals and covered up the silver with the primer, i check and their isnt any lip at all, there should be a tiny lip by the time i lay down the base coat but that will sand out easily.
