Default need your opinion on engine bay appearance

I have done all of the performance mods that I am going to do for a while, so, now I want to start working on making the engine bay look as good as I can. I don't have much of a budget to work with on this-200. I think I want to put some frc's on-just oem covers from afterthoughts. My goal is to have a clean neat looking bay. I'll go all out with it when I get out of school.....................................I have polished the throttlebody Maf ends and the ends of my LS6 heads. I am trying to polish the valvecovers right now=a bitch(hate sanding)............My car is a nbm Firehawk, so, will this look good- frc with red vette lettering and painting the SLP on my SLP lid red to match corvette............................All I have done is the polishing so far....................please give me some suggestions.

No use in polishing the valvecovers if you're going to cover them up with FRC's...

I personally think stock (with the CORVETTE still on them) FRC's looks retarded on non-vettes...

I say either spend the money for some nice custom FRC's or don't get them... I would (and did) just paint my valve covers red (going for the prototype ZL1 look):

I think for $200 you're better off doing a lot of little things to make it look better:

Paint the valve covers

MAYBE paint the intake

Do the !Wire mod and !Hood release cable mod

Throw a nice Optima Red Top battery in there and call it a day !

OR just spend the whole $200 on a NICE SET OF FRC's from the company you mentioned... Example:

Whatever you do, be careful painting your SLP lid... Those letters are just stickers, deceiving indented feeling stickers, but stickers nonetheless...

Any pics of the engine bay now?

What about using an accent color?? NBM Hawk-Maybe paint the valve covers a red or silver or candy-apple. the polished will be hard to keep looking good. Also what do you think about painting the coil packs and the bracket-not sure what color. give me some Ideas

Pick ONE highlight color & stick to it, ...
Don't go painting things to 'highlight' them & bring attention to'em. Hide'em, ..., sometimes cleaner is better, ...

There's more than one way to skin a cat, ...
!coil-pack, move-em back under the cowl.

!wire mod

Look at these underhood shots, ...

Since the highlight color on the Firehawk decal is silver, I'd continue that color for anything else.

Do NOT add silver plastic wire wrap around everything, ...
There's tons of things to do, just be careful you don't go too far or head in the wrong direction.

wow, thanks for all the Ideas. I do agree with you-I am going to keep everything in good taste. That is why I am trying to come up with some good tasteful ideas before I do anything beside polishing.

OK, PONTIAC FAN- What do you think..........................The NBM Firehawk covers with the intake painted silver to match the lettering. will the silver intake be too much?

Thanks PontiacFan...

bluehawk... I think painting the intake the right shade of silver would look good. make sure you clearcoat the silver afterwards. Have you considered upping your budget a little bit and getting the highest quality blue Kevlar FRC's on the market?

I think that getting rid of clutter is the best approach and I fully agree that you should never add colored wire loom to an engine bay. ~Joshua

I have looked at those. They are an option, however, I reall like the idea of the NBM covers with the Firehawk Logo. Thanks........I think I am coming up with a plan here.
