Default Car Cover + Snow

I was talking to my dad about getting a car cover for when it snows and he told me it would be pointless b/c the snow would go on top and the moisture and eventually turn into ice inside of it and stick to the car....

is that accurate? or should I get it and hope for the best?

I had mine under an SLP cover, I did not check for ice under it but the damn wind was slappin it so much, it left scuff marks in the paint on the bottom.. After that, I found a storage for the winter.

Unless you plan on taking the cover off when its less than 32* outside I dont see why it would matter? Ice isn't too permanent!
