i bought today 1 can VHT flat black for the pieping by the LTs to the H pipe. Then i bought 3 cans GLOSS black engine enamel paint for the entire car.. yes i will repaint the VHT with the gloss.

Brake cleaner and steal wool to prep it with, dont be shy with the brake cleaner either. If you are not gonna take the pipes off you might wanna put something on the top side of them (against your floor pan) so you dont get paint on the car. As far as curing....I just let mine air dry and it worked out ok, like I said I should of waited longer but it was ok doing it that way.--Tony

yea i will take the brake cleaner with a steel wool pad... however my exhaust is fairly new like 2 months old can not be that bad.. but yea i will still clean it... I am going to try to paint all the piping.. top and bottom. As far as the under carriage i am going to put newspaper up so no over spray.. How long did you let it air dry?? to cure it red.. after it is dry. let the car idle for 10 mins let it cool down for 20 mins. Then let the car idle again for 20 mins let it cool again for 20 mins. And last drive it under normal driving conditions for 30 mins then let it cool for how ever long...
btw you have a sound clip of your exhaust. i ahve an x with magnapacks.. hate the sound that is why i am going h and 1 chambers

I dont have a sound clip, sorry but I love the way the car sounds. Even though your exhaust is new, there will still be oil/road grime on it that will need to be off for the paint to stick right. I let mine air dry for a day then had to put it back on to go to a dyno day, the smoke show that resulted afterwards scared the living hell out of me and smelled terriable. I thought my car blew on the dyno but it was just the paint on the pipes, since then no problems.--Tony
