Question Which drill attachment and polish for buffing?

I'm looking to wet sand and buff some headlights that are very much opaque with crap but I'm unsure of which drill attachment I need and where to get it. I'm also unsure of what polishing compound I should use to bring back the look of glass. I went to walmart as they supposedly had a kit containing all of these things but, surprise surprise, they are out of it. I figure I'll just buy all the things separately instead of waiting.

Look at the Hall of Fame sticky I made for headlights. It was just bumped recently because I need to do my lenses again after ~2 years.

Well I want to use a drill attachment to make things a lot easier. Your link doesn't use drill attachments and the mustang forum one doesn't say where they got theirs. I was hoping someone on here would know what and where to get it.

You can get a 3-4" buffing wheel at Lowe's or Home Depot, or a Mother's PowerBall or PowerBall Mini would probably also work very well. These should be available at local car parts stores. Just be sure not to overheat the plastic while polishing with the drill and you should be fine.

It's called an "arbor." I bought one from Eastwood. ==>

They used to have it pictured, now they only have the micro version shown (small but stronger than the dremel arbor).

Just call and tell them you want a drill arbor and they'll know what you mean. ~Joshua
