Painted Interior, Help Please!! Best Shine!
Alright once again... I painted a couple of interior pieces (Not the whole thing, I think you guys will like it, I got everything paited and cleared and now I want to get the best shine out of the clear.... How Do I do this? Do I sand a little bit with 2000 grit? What kind of polish? Just help! I have a couple of small imperfections (dust) that would be nice to get out but if not its cool, But just want to know how i can maximize the best results from rattle cans..... (duplicolor silver, duplicolor clear)

Well I posted a huge paint thread a while back but it's been buried.
Its all in the prep first of all. Your paint won't have the look you want if you didn't do the proper prep. Hopefully, you.....
Sanded it down, cleaned with alcohol, used adhesive promoted, cleaned with alchol, did a light coat of primer, cleaned with alcohol, 2-3 more coats of primed, cleaned with alcohol between each coat, let dry for a day or so. Then, sand with 120, 220, 400, 600, 800, 1000 with a good alcohol rub down between each sanding. After the 1000, you can go 1500 then 2000 on the regular colored coat. Then, let it sit for an hour or so, alcohol it, do a light clearcoat mist, let dry, alcohol, then another clear coat, alcohol, repeat till you have the desired amount of clearcoat. Then, I would let it dry for 1-2 days and wetsand with 1500 and 2000 grit sandpaper.
I just used the stuff at walmart, IMO 2000 grit means 2000 grit no matter how much money you spend. You used Duplicolor paint so I imagine you don't care enough to order sandpaper online when you can get it at Wally World for $2. Once you finish the clearcoat I would maybe use some plexiglass polish if you can find it in 2500 or 3000, but the 2000 grit sandpaper should do. Just wax it with some Turtle Wax and you are set.
If you are unhappy with the results I have some dupont exterior auto paint (high gloss black) for sale. It'd look great on interior stuff. Post pics when you're done!
