Best way to care for your leather is to use products only when necessary. Best way to clean is with a rag and water. If you condition regularly, make sure to clean with a cleaner every time before applying conditioner. If you don't, it will build up and eventually harden and crack.

I highly recommend Zaino.

Bruce -

I just use a wet white cotton towel to scrub them off, and use Meguiars leather conditioner from AutoZone to condition them. If you have stubborn/greasy spots try hand rubbing the spot with Formula 409 then wiping with the towel.

Don't spend big $$$ on friggen leather cleaners.

GM Leather, isn't real leather. It's coated in a urethane. All you need is some cheap meguiars/lexol whatever it may be leather cleaner.

I use commercial Zep cleaner. Makes it smell like the real stuff, and does an excellent job of cleaning the surfaces.

Really, its not real leather. So what kind of worries should I be having about it cracking and fading over time?

Correct.

It will fade and crack badly if you condition frequently without cleaning each time. The conditioner builds up on the last application and fills in the pours of the leather, over time it hardens and it can no longer expand and contract. That causes cracks which turn into tears.

i've heard Zaino doesn't heal or protect against the stretch markers and creases - so I go with Lexol.

Thats because no product can heal stretch marks or creases. Once they are there you're stuck with them.

Do NOT use a cleaner/conditioner combo (in 1 bottle). Each and every time you condition your seats, you must use a cleaner first. Zaino, Lexol, Meguires all have separate cleaners and conditioners. I'd suggest getting a bottle of cleaner and a bottle of conditioner.
