Default min temp to wax?

using 3m wax. says not to freeze it but doesnt say ne thing about applying cold. its ~38 degrees here. need to wax up the wheels because car will be out maybe another month and it just snowed

That's pretty cold. Ideally, you want it to be 50+. It can still be done, but it may be very hard to work with.

Any reason for avoiding colder temps other than it being harder to work with? Is it less likely to bond?

on the bottle it says to keep from freezing because it will seperate. if you thin it out putting it on the seperation temperature might increase to a higher temperature i supose. i might try it tomarrow anyway. at most it will strip the old wax off. my wheels are pretty nasty and i think cleaning them will help enough.

i agree,
but
i believe i read / heard somewhere,
the paint surface temp needs to be at the very minimal 45 degrees. so, technically, if your car is in a garage and you have a kerosene heater, you can wax the car if it is like -30

but yes, it will not be fun working with it.
