Default Billet Grill w/ Blue Bowtie Questions

ok, so ive had my billet grill for quite some time but just recently recieved my blue bowtie, its actually for a 69 chevell i beleive, but not posotive. the damn things been on back-order for like 3 months! anyway how did all of u guys mount urs onto the grill? Pics would be nice!!

I cut off the tabs on the back of the emblem since it was hitting the body, made a plate and j/b welded the bowtie emblem to the plate and the plate to the grill

thnx man, headers will be on next weekend! i was supposed to do them this weekend but the guy with all the tools had to go out of town, so ive got to stare at them on my floor for 7 more painful days!! after the headers ive got an ss hood waiting to go on then its either gears or a stall! im leaning towards a stall !

Pulling this one out from the dead since I just picked up an original blue bowtie but the tabs stick out too far...looking for an easier solution than above.

I don't remember having any trouble, and I know it's for a Chevelle.Maybe my grill sticks out further?

Here's a pic since I have an almost twin to your's....

Hahaha, i was just saying that about the twin in another thread...yeah thats the same emblem I picked up. Seems like the 2 studs are too long though. Maybe trim them down a little but didnt know what other people did before I busted out the grinder...

To answer my own question for anyone else looking for the answer, I cut the tips off the studs so they just barely poked through the grill, then took a washer and installed the speed nuts backwards. (Had to use pliers to tighten the speed nuts, just be careful not to crush the speed nut)
