i think you need the suncoast hood for it to work.

correct me if im wrong, but didn't suncoast just basically copy the LT1 airbox?

not on the firebirds. the SS camaros had it on top of the engine. the firebirds had the air box where the LS1 box is but with filter on top like the suncoast

my hood is a lot bigger than the suncoast. have you ever seen the underside of a 4" cowl??? its open and sucks the **** outta air when you get on it. When i get on it and there are leaves or pine needles around the opening they get sucked in like no other

no offense but my airbox seems just as big...ill take a close up while at home this weekend

well yur in luck if the front will clear it. that airbox was made for the lt1 t/a's and was the most effective "ram air" 4thg ens ever had from the factory. look at the underside of a ram air suncoast hood and you'll see why

yes i have this hood...the air is "rammed" through the nostrals directly down forcing it into the airbox...i would like to know where i can get one (couldnt find a place to buy on thhe website) i kinda ruined my original trying to paint it lol

how does it work the air comes around the top of the hood ?

it sucks in air by the windshield, like the old cowls that come up on the 70 chevelles. When its cold out and im at a stop you can see it "breathing" on the windshield "venting out warm air" its a cool effect
