Default Trans am upper dash???

Ok guys, will the upper dash from a 97-02 car work in a 95? I know the defroster shape is different, but is the actual piece the same dimensions? Thansk a ton for any input.

If your dash i the same as mine. I dont think the LS1 style will work. The cluster shape is more round, so I doubt it will work.

^^^If you value your money, quality and good service do not think of having any business with those crooks, believe me I know. Check with Hawks Third Generation. The have lots of cars for parts and their service is great.

Yeah, mine is cracked all to hell. I have been trying to scrounge one up from junk yards, cause I really do not want to pay so much for a peice of plastic. But we will see what happens.

Supposedly there is some sort of dash cover, and no not like some carpet like you find in the taco bell delivery cars...

if you do a google search for junkyards there is a junkyard search where you imput the parts you need and it sends out the request nationwide, i did that for my front end conversion and i got a 98+bumper cover and fender for 450 shipped.

These guys are correct there are 3 different upper dash panels/pads.
93-96 Camaro pads
93-96 Bird/TA pads
97+ Camaro/TA pads.

If i was you i'd just shell out the money and buy a brand new one. There is a guy on ebay that sells them for $168+ shipping for the pad you need. I bought one from him in September when i had a 93 TA dash installed in my Camaro. The pads are way more flexible than any used ones and have a revised velcro setup which is better. Considering you'll probably end up paying $100+ for a used pad i'd just spend the extra dough and get a brand new one. You could also try to upgrade to the 97+ TA dash, i know its hardly any different than the dash you have but it would allow you to use the 97+ pad which is much more plentiful. Also the 97+ pads are held in place by metal clips that lock into place rather than velcro. My original TA pad cracked when the velcro let go and the pad started to vibrate and flex.

Yeah, the 97+ dash piece that always cracks is NOT interchangeable with the 93-96 piece that always cracks... I've tried.

I got one for my car from GM Parts Direct for $180 shipped brand new...

They're all known for cracking not just the 97. Do you use something to protect the pad during the summer? I always use a windshield shade in the summer to protect my pad. I'm glad i got rid of my TA dash and now have a 97+ Camaro dash. The pad fits so much better and is securely held. I love it. Here is the guy that i bought my old bird pad from. cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-95-96-Firebird-Trans-Am-Firehawk-WS6-Dash-Pad-OEM_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ40017QQihZ004QQitem Z140055098270QQrdZ

Here is an early Camaro one.

Yeah i'm glad i live in Ks, the only time i've ever had a pad crack it was because i was doing something wrong, and not removing it or installing it correctly. I know a lot of people that live on the coasts just have their pads crack for no real reason at all. They just come outside to find their pad has cracked from the heat. I do try to keep mine protected with a sunshade during the summer when i'm not driving the car.
