Default Painting my intake need advice.

Can I use a rattle can to acheive good results and match the body color of my car? My car is pewter colored. Also will the paint stand up to the heat?

I sanded mine smooth and had a body shop paint it. They charged $60 and worth every penny. The paint looks beter than the paint on my car. My advise would be save some money and have it done right the first time...
30,000 miles and 1 year later it still looks very nice!

Here's what can be achieved if you take your time and use the right materials:
