Default Got a question about powder coating...

Im buying a powder coating kit from eastwood and I was browsing through the customer submitted photos and there was a pic of a set of headers that were powder coated. Will the powder coating actually last on a set of headers? I havent really seen much info on the heat ratings. Once I get it im thinking of doing my pacesetter headers.

Thanks!

There are high temp coatings but I don't know much about them. When I was going to have the shop coat my exhaust the only high temp color they had was black and it had a texture finish.

Craftsman usually makes decent tools, and I came across this:

All you need is an oven, or a wife/girlfriend to be out of the kitchen for a week!

Eastwood has a nice setup for $129. Like you said then all you need is an oven. Im going to look around at yard sales and such for a cheapo..

Yeah I seen the high temp stuff, and I seen those headers so It got me wondering. My pacesetters are looking rough, and Im getting the powdercoating system so I was hoping it would work.

i think most of the temps to cure the powder are like 350-500* so i don't see why it wouldn't last. not really sure though

^^^^ what he said, I think you might wanna check with Eastwood. I honestly don't think that it will last that long. Something tells me that there a difference between JET HOT coating and Eastwoods do it yourself.
