Default HID/General Wiring question:

IN this diagram, on the relay whats the squiggly line fromt he power to ground mean? SOrry if thats idiotic but does it just mean to connect them ? Spent all day today attempting to get the projectors to mount up and now im worried about the wiring.. thanks guys!

the squiggly line is the magnet inside the relay. the way a relay works is 30 is power in. 87 and 87a are power outs, depending on which relay, u may only have 1 or both. 85 and 86 are opposite ends of the magnet, one side power one side ground. when the magent is activated, ie you apply power to it. it moves a lever inside, either activating 87 or 87a. here are some more pics to explain it...

in this one the coil/magnet does not have power. the 12v from 30 is going to 87.


here the coil has power and it flipped the lever now the 12v is going to 87a.






since you only have a single pull relay. meaning only 87, when power is shut off to the relay, the 12v from 30 goes no where. relay on power on, relay off power off.
