Default car cover frozen to the car

yep, we got sleet, freezing rain, snow combo this week and i just had the car all clean so i put our nice thick breathable car cover on it. i went out to take it off today since the snow is starting to melt, and its frozen to the car. im going to let it melt more, but is there anything i should be worried about with the paint?

can anyone think of any ideas on how to get it off? i tried running the car for a while (i can fit in the passanger door, it was in the sun) but it didnt do much. i dont really want to spray it down with water and make an ice skating rink on the driveway.

You might have to just let it thaw out...

yeah, i dont have a heat gun. i could try a hairdryer, but that would probably just burn up the motor in it.

Loochy! I havn't talked to you since I was on the v6 forums way long ago. As far as the cover being frozen to the car, it shouldn't take paint off with it but it could scratch your clear depending on how you remove it. It hasn't adhered to the paint itself but is frozen to the ice thats on the car. Its like removing ice on your car with a pull tab, just a big pull tab the size of the car.

Just leave it to thaw on its own and everything will be just fine.

or if the weather is above freezing you can run a hose over it for a while and lift it section by section as it thaws.

do you have an electric blanket? this used to happen to my four wheelers and dirtbikes. Put down a tarp and then an elctric blanket on top of the tarp. Itll take a awhile but it will melt and run down and the tarp will keep the blankiet from shorting out in any way. But unless you need the car right away for something id just let it melt

either let it thaw, or use a heat gun and go over it. be careful not to get too close! if you in the south chicagoland area i could help you up
