After buying my TA in 2002, a mail truck kissed it and screwed up the original hood. In cutting costs, which was a mistake, I bought an aftermarket hood from a dude on ebay. Needless to say it fits like **** and looks like an ocean.
Has anyone fitted a Suncoast Creations hood? If so how did it fit and look?
I can buy a GM hood through Gmparts direct for about $1600 shipped.
The Suncoast hood would be + - $1000.
Leaning towards the GM ? ?

Seriously thinking of shipping my TA to Italy so I can play with the Ferraris.
The biggest cost will be the damn BOLLO (yearly registration fee) + - $ 1000 !
But for the first 2 years I can use my Kansas Tag for about $200
Oh, and naturally Insurance + - $ 2000 for just liability.
And another cost, 1 liter of 100 octane,,,, 1 Euro and 30 cents !
1 gallon is about 3.65 liters !
Better check emissions prior to departure..

Good thing I have a company car here...

Ive heard a few complaints about the suncoast hood. I have no big complaints on mine however. Mine just needs to be adjusted slightly so its sits forward a tad and a lil higher on the passenger side and it'll be perfect. Two things you should look out for however with the suncoast hood are the nostrils and the airbox design. The "dual cowls" i guess you could call them sit higher than the gm version does which gives it a more aggressive look. The nostrils arent shaped the same as gm. The suncoast nostrils are square whereas gm's are more slanted and curved. I didn't know this when I bought the hood but at this point I could care less, I think it looks just fine. The airbox issue is the other thing you need to look out for. I'm not sure if you plan to buy their included airbox or not. If you are then you dont have to worry. It wont look as good as an LS1 aftermarket airbox but it'll work. If you're sticking with the stock airbox or getting an aftermarket lid like i did, technically you wont have functional ram air (big woop ).

Why not go with our sponsor VFN. They make the same hood and they are known to have great fitment and quality. Plus, there hoods are like half the price of the Suncoast one. Do a search on VFN and you will see tons of praises at how great their hoods are. Thats just my opinion. There website is on the right -->>>>.

go with vfn and and buy the best fitting best looking hood on the market. and they are VERY affordable. do whats right, go with vfn.

I have a suncoast creations on my formula, the openings do look bad when you get up close, took me bout a week to get the fitment correct, gotta play around with the drill and the hinges, pain in my a$$ but got it cheap so no complaints, the foam that fits around the airbox sucks, but I`m fixing that part soon.....

I emailed VFN to ask about their return policy (in case the fit aint so good)?
Their "US Exotics Style" WS9 Outlaw looks cool to cover the 600hp.

If the paint on the suncoast grills arent done right then yea it can be ugly but i've got mine painted flat black and to tell you the truth i think it looks more aggressive than the stock style hood. That and the fact that the cowls sit up higher. Its subtle and even a lot of the trans am guys at local car meet tell me that they dont know what it is about my car but it looks a lot more mean than theirs. I've gotten nothing but props on it when I tell them what it is. I love it.

Flat Black? hmmm shall have to try it, I was thinking more of shaving the inside of the nostrils so they were more rounded

Suncoast grilles are fugly. The factory one looks the best, the VFN is identical in appearance but costs less. The factory one is more 'finished' looking underneath.
