Do it the right way and ya weld a piece of metal in their and then girnd it flush, that way it wont rust and will last.

So you welded a piece to the inside or the outside?.... That is exacxtly what i wanna do if you could elaborate on what you did... I'm going for an extremely sleek and clean look. No locks or door handles if possible.

Weld the piece to the inside and then you can fill in with body filler and glazing putty. Basically you're just making a back plate. If you do the door handles there won't be any welding involved considering they are made of SMC which is a composite material.

Excellent... simple enough... this project is coming together nicely... I have the body work supplies... the paint booth... now i just need the door poppers, hood and the time.

actually when i had shaved my antenna i made a mounting bracket and mounted it horizontally in the spare tire area in the qaurter panel. Honestly it gets reception in there just as good as out on the qaurter panel stickin 5 feet in the air

I have my antenna shaved off as well. Before I had it shaved, I had cut my antenna in half. Now it just sits inside my quarter panel and I still get pretty good reception.

Couple of Pics:

Sorry if this is a stupid question. But do you have to repaint the panel to do this? I never listen to the radio and have wired it to a switch so it stays down while i listen to my ipod and i hate hate the black nub sticking out the back
