Default shifter and door LEDs are in...

I got the shifter and door LEDs in from LEDgauges.com (thanks Nathan !).

I repaired my door panel cracks while I had the panels off, and took the fabric off the back of the honeycomb speaker grills so you can see the JBQuartz components in there now.

Sorry the pics are kinda blurry, it's hard to hold the camera still enough...

looks good. Are you going to change all of your lights (guages and hvac) to blue,
or are you going to leave them the way they are?

Maybe someday, but for now I'm leaving the hard stuff alone hehe. My shifter bulb was burned out anyway so I figured I'd replace it with blue LED and I like the look of the blue on the doors.

Nope, the white leather interior was part of the 30th anniv package.

The hard stuff? The easiest are the HVAC controls! Hell the cluster took me all of 20 minutes start to finish. PM if you would like an easy run thru of how to do it all

I'm sure Nathan has red LEDs... Is that what you mean ?

Shaun, I ordered blue LEDs, just emailed Nathan and told him what I wanted.

Hmm, Brian2006 maybe I'll PM you about the HVAC controls and see how difficult it would be to change them out. The steering wheel stereo controls would probably be pretty easy too...

TXZ28LS1, it's really pretty straightforward - I just cut off the bulbs and soldered on the LEDs to the same wires, resistor on the (+) side. I heat shrink tube'd the connections and electrical taped everything up. For the shifter I had to scrape off the red tint on the back of the gear indicator plate. I might go get a Camaro one at a dealer to swap it out, which I believe are already white/clear and not red tinted.

Thanks.

Went for a spin last night, the new shifter and door LEDs compliment the AutoMeter cobalt gauges really well, and man does it look kickass when it's really dark outside.

I will probably start on the HVAC next, discovered the bulbs are very accessible and it shouldn't be too difficult...

The doors ? I can see what you mean... The pics are with the LED fully exposed through the little hole - I can push it back farther into the hole for a less "dramatic" light for the doors. I just had them all the way out for the pics, and so far I've left them like that.

The original stock bulbs are tiny little incandescent bulbs that screw into a housing on the back of the door panel to secure them. The same kind of bulb was in the shifter assembly. There was a red plastic piece on the doors I had to remove as well (which is what gives the clear door bulb the red color light on Firebirds), so with everything removed the blue LED fits through the small square hole.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
