Default Aftermarket Hood: What company to choose?

I want to get an aftermarket WS6 ram air hood for my 98 T/A. But what company should I go with? I dont know who to choose. Please, any help would be appreciated. Also, will they fit with no problems??

I have a Suncoast Raptor, it fits terribly, almost not able to get it on the car.

OEM 1st if you cannot find one ASCD IMHO are the next best ones. The fit and finish are great here is a pics on my old 99 TA (I also have the SS hood for my Camaro).

I don't understand why people buy stock looking hoods from aftermarket companies. Might as well just buy OEM. NOTHING fits better than OEM, just do some searching and find a good deal....

because not everyone has 1000-1500 to dump on a NEW OEM ws6 hood
my vote is for VFN!

1. Why buy when it's FREE (my WS6 hood, as well as SS hood and spoiler were free (Tech Articles for magazines are great)
2. Back in 99 $1500-$1800 for OEM No thanks
3. As posted above some people may not be able to spend $1500-$1800 on an OEM so the aftermarket ones are the next best thing.

Not all aftermarket ones are bad. Where you run into issues with aftermarket ones is that some places use the molds longer than they should thus filament issue arise.

With my ASCD SS hood's I have never had an issue.

What do you think dealerships and body shops do when they need to replace OEM parts like SS hoods, SS spoilers, WS6 hoods. Guess what GM and SLP are out of SS spoilers so they have to buy aftermarket ones. This will be the same for the hoods as well from what I understand the WS6 hoods are gone (sold out, and the SS hoods are not far behind).

yeah that ramairhood.com place seems like a good deal.

From what I've gathered, ASCD is the next best thing if not the best choice

but clearly the best choice is just go OEM if you can.

just my .02 if I was gonna do it myself.

I have ASCD WS6 style hood and I love it. The cowl is bigger in the back. It is very noticeable compared to an OEM WS6 hood. Maybe like 1" to 1 1/2" taller for a great view out the windshield.

Bolt on if you want to open your hood easily.

Lift off if you want to remove your hood everytime you want to do anything under it.

I'd say, for most of us it would be a bolt on.

Here is a perfect example of what I was talking about (finding a good deal on OEM hoods)

I understand where your coming from, but it seems to me that its much harder to find a WS6 ram air hood than an SS hood. . . .

^^thats true, but I HAVE seen some OEM WS-6 hoods on this site, and on ebaymotors, I strongly advise that you have patience and search it out, that way you won't regret it, and your hood won't be sticking up too much on one side or have shitty quality
