Window tint?

Window tint?
Would like some opinions on whether I should tint my windows and also was wondering how dark you can legally go and how dark you can usually get away with.
Normally I don't care for tint. I think it looks good on a small minority of cars but I think this may be one of them because of the black roof and t-tops.

I think the amount of darkness you can go with depends on the state, but I'm not to sure. My best buds roomate tints for a living, so I'll ask him.
But yeah, your car would look good with some dark windows!

I have 20% tints on both my 95 Camaro and 98 Camaro. Makes the car look 10x better and is also easier on your eyes when you're driving in bright sunlight. Id say get 20% if you don't mind a little darker of a tint, 35% (i think thats what the next popular step up is) is you want it a little lighter. As for laws, I'm not sure about that one...I've never paid much attention to that when it comes to tints.

I'm thinking of tinting my windows as well. My driver side window has couple tears in it and the back window is starting to look old.
Anyone running anything darker than 20% and got pics? Do you guys have your t-tops tinted too?

I have a few more questions too. Can you have the rear done without damaging the rear defroster? How long does it usually stay trouble free if you have a professional do it? Is it inevitable that it will start peeling and cracking or can I be pretty confident it will look perfect inside and out for many years?

The tint shop will 99.9% of the time have a listing of what is legal.
Tinting is an absolute must with an F-body, especially in Texas.
I almost died sitting in my car when I first opened that door up after work.
Plus my vinyl/foam started expanding and the glue became brittle on me. I swapped interiors WAY back after the car was tinted and the interior temperature never got close to what it was and the foam/glue stopped cracking on me.
The only thing to really decide on is if you want an eyebrow tint. I had it done on my 1st C5 and I didn't like it at all, plus it didn't look good.

the lowest you can go leagally in texas i believe is 20% otherwise you wont pass inspections. you can have it as dark as you want in the rear though. just the side windows have to be 20

i don't know about the laws anywhere else, but here in Michigan, you can't have any tint on any windows adjacent to the driver (windshield or driver or passanger side windows) except for a 4" strip across the top which looks gay as hell....
where you get your tint done and the type of film depends on how long it will last or if it cracks and peels. the tint i use at my work has a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer (Llumar) also we give a lifetime warranty on the work we do at my work, so if you DO have a problem, it's free for us to strip it and redo it....with this said, F-bodys let alone any vehicle looks much better tinted!
i've posted in a few tint threads, but here's another one of my car 5% hatch 15% sides and 35% on my windshield. i have a hard top so i didn't tint my t-tops lol since idon't have 'em...however i've yet to tint a T-top? most of them are already tinted from the factory....
i've had about a million and 1 tint tickets between my SS and my Daily driver ranger that has 5% over the rear factory tint and 20% on the sides, i had 35% on my windshield of my ranger before but got a ticket and have yet to retint it....
