Default headlights

whats the average lifespan of regular halogens? I got new ones when i first got the car less than a year ago and one burnt out on me tonight. I do a lot of night driving so i'm sure that played a major part in it but i thought they would have lasted a lot longer than it did. Maybe a dud?

It certainly should have lasted longer than that.

What brand/model were they?

Regular Sylvania or SilverStar? The SilverStar line has been known to have a short life. Sylvania's regular and their XtraVision line tend to be good though.

Crapshoot.
Some last a year.
Some last a few months.
The XtraVision are actually brigher and cheaper anyway. They just dont have the coating to make the light whiter.
