Default How often do you buff and polish ?

I have only done it 1 time since being new, about 5 years ago and my 99 needs it again ! Always have used the best car care products on a schedule ! Just wondering what is to much and how often you do it ?
Can you recommend the best in the Houston ?
Thanks

I usually do a two-step polish once a year, and I might very lightly polish a few times.

I usually do a big job at the start of the yr(everything from clay, to paint cleaner, to polish, to sealant) and then just give her a quick round or two of NXT at the end of the season to protect over the winter. I do it every yr tho, on my DD, lol, it gets neglected....and worried about the next yr(which never comes!) no it gets done spring time too, but with the cheap stuff

I am not going to actually vote because I have not had my TA a full 2 years yet. This concerns my TA only, not other less well-cared for vehicles. I only clayed and sealed during the first winter storage. This storage cycle, I clayed, polished, and sealed. I really do not want to polish the car again. Hopefully, if it is necessary, it will be at least 5 years from now. I only have so much clear to work with. I have only put 2k miles on my car since July ‘05; try to avoid precipitation; park it in the garage when not in storage; and store it during the winter.

I try to wash and wax at least once a month but it's difficult right now because of the cold/rainy/snowy weather.

A buddy of mine works at a shop that removes dents, details cars, etc. I think I'm going to have him try to get me a deal on a full exterior detail. I want to get them to buff my headlights and the paint. Then I'll just get a coat or two of NXT wax on it to keep it looking good.

ive only had my car for 6 months and i buffed it when i got it and im probably going to buff it again when all the winter weather clears. i hand wash about once a week and give it a good detail once a month or so with a little touch up polish here and there and a wax. i will proably slow down with the polishing to once a year when i get the finish conditioned the way i like it.

Glaze and wax every 3-6 months. The car sees maybe 2500 miles a year, and spends the rest of the time under clean cotton sheets in the garage

The XTerra gets a wax every 3 months or so and glaze about once a year....

OHH your talking about cars. In that case, wash once a weeks. wax probably once a month. claybar twice at most a year.

Every couple 3 months or so. Depending on how bad it needs it. I usually go w/ a mothers polish between waxings.

once or twice a year, if needed. I will also work on specific problem spots as required.

I would probably take better care of my DD if I wasn't so busy taking care of other peoples..
