Default Cost to ship a hood? $190???

Bought a hood from another member here. From Virginia Beach to Detroit, he was quoted $190 from a UPS store. We both know that's crap. What's the best way to go about it?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

It's about $120 to ship a hood if you package it yourself because it has to go freight. There's no real cheap way...

Yes they are very expensive to ship. $190 is a little high but it's not out of the question by any means. I mean look at the size of it and really think about it.
Like toofazt said it's freight, it won't be shipped like a normal package.

My USX WS9 was $105 shipped from Pennsylvania to Kansas City - two weeks ago...

It shipped FedX Freight.

Roger told me that they usually charge about $50 more for RESIDENTIAL addresses. (Ships on tractor/trailer... hard to get around in a residential area + no one to help driver unload it...). So mine went directly to the body shop...

Can definitely ship it to a business. I was planning to have it delivered to work, large construction site, we get semi deliveries all day long.

Well I found some cities are much cheaper to ship out of than others. Like UPS has larger hubs in some places than others. Do some shopping around, also call fedex dont use the website, they will give you a discount code you can use on the web or at the local fedex location. Although if you find somewhere that handles alot of freight, you can get a better discount.

I don't know if dhl can ship it or not but when I sold some side skirts UPS quoted me 120 and I as able to ship it with dhl for 25. Serously, it was that much cheaper.
