taillight panel lettering removal
i would like to remove the "trans am" and the birdy on my middle taillight panel... whats the best way without scratching the **** out of it... my ta is NBM with tail blackouts and this would complete the blacked out look... thanks in advance

First off, I'd recommend removing it from the car for ease of working with it.
I screw them down to my wooden workbench, but you could easily tape it off & do it on the car. As long as you don't get excess remover anywhere else.
Nail polish remover to remove the leftover pink lettering.
600, 1500, 2000grit wet-sand
Polish with some type of plastic polish
Yes, I've done this a couple times myself. (See feedback.)
I'd highly recommend using some type of d/a or orbitla buffer when polishing back to save your arm. It can be a lot of work.

My car came with a spare stocker since the previous owner put on a 30th Anny white on eon there, that's starting to fade, so maybe I'll do this to the red guy and see how it looks. Good write up!
