Default Those with McEwen gauge overlays ...

(I did a search and didn't see this question)

Those that have the McEwen's ... how easy or difficult was it to install them? Any tips/tricks to watch out for? Thanks.

PS-this is not a thread to tell me why I should or shouldn't put these on LOL ... simply a question as to the difficulty of putting them on. Thanks in advance

Not to difficult to put on. Its easier if you take off the steering wheel tilt lever. Other than that its pretty straight forward. I also used a T/A bezel when I put it back together.

I put a small flashlight where the bulbs go, to illuminate the gauge as I was putting on the overlay. It was the only way I could get them lined up perfectly.

The needle goes through the hole and the hole is covered by the black round "button" that the needle is connected to. Kinda hard to explain but makes since when you see the overlays. I don't have a picture of the overlays before they were installed. I'll see if I can find one.

How strong is the adhesive on these? Like if one corner sticks where it shouldn't how bad will it damage the overlay once I take it off to fix it? Sorry for the dumb questions

Its strong enough to hold them in place, but I wouldn't want to try and re-position them. Just take you time they will look fine. I started with the headlight panel then the a/c panel then onto the gauges.

I've seen a ton of posts where someone screwed up and it made me nervous but, it was so stupidly simple.......and I tend to screw up "do it yourself" projects.

l bought mine all together, but can't remember if it was a "kit". I think the other 2 pieces tie it together.

I just installed the McEwens last week, also the TA bezel! They look great! They were fairly easy to install, after you tilt the wheel remove the tilt lever, It gives more room to wiggle the cluster out. The worst part was removing the cluster, I had to really wiggle and pull to get it out of there. Also, the ac and heater overlays are a seperate item. Good luck!
