Default Weird halo light problem.

So my halo ring on my driver side headlight stopped working so I took it apart and looked at the LED lights. It looked fine and tested it and it didn't lit. I cut off the original resistor that came w/ it and tested it again and it worked. So it have a bad resistor right? So I bought another resistor for the LED light and well it only lit one of the bulb. So I was like WTF?!? So I figured well I'm going to put it back together and not put the resistor on it. It worked when I tested it w/ the battery itself so yeah I figured its fine. So its on the car and turned the car on and the headlights on. Well the halo started dimming then it stopped working. I guess I burnt both of them now.

So what are the chances of taking the headlight apart AGAIN and not mess up the headlight housing. Should I buy another pair of halos instead?
