Default Undercarrige clean up

I've got the tranny out of the car, thinking of cleaning the underside up a bit..

Im going to drop the rear end, paint it, i bought some rubberized undercoating as well, going to try and clean everthing up, make it look presentable.... Any tips/ ideas?

Alright, I'm going to..
Power wash
Remove heat shields, polish
Wrap I pipe in news paper.
Paper/tape on the pinch weld ( towards the outside, for overspary )
Undercoat
clean up exhaust pipes, polish SS parts.
Re-install tranny when ever I get it back...

Sounds like a wiener BUT I would do some searches on the por15 because that stuff isn't porous and doesn't work like paint so you should do some research into how you are going to prep that bad boy. I've seen it done a couple of ways and the only way I would be satisfied (even with the por15) is to pressure wash, then sand blast everything, then use phospho or por15's prep on the surface. It makes a coating, similar to a primer, that allows the por15 to anchor on, it is not a cleaner or anit fish eye or what not.
Just a heads up, I'd look into the product more.

I sprayed super clean under mine and then sprayed it all off with water and wiped everything down with a rag. I also sprayed some cd2 under there it looks pretty good. When I do my exhaust im going to polish the heat shields also.

Im also lookin for a few tips on this. My car is fully undercoated in thick yellow UC which protects well, and when powerwashed down comes back to a nice mat black. However I am contemplating getting it back to stock without all the undercoat, but i am kinda paranoid about any rust. The car looks like it was originally rhino-lined after it was sold to the original owner. Do you guys think its worthwhile to strip all that stuff down? Car does not get winter/salt road driven

White car looks good underneath cause the primer they use is almost white. The black cars look weird cause there is very little black in most areas.

My friend just used some Advanced Auto parts degreaser. He put it up on the lift and sprayed a little degreaser and then power washed it off and did it again and again until the whole car was squeaky clean underneath. Looked really good IMO.
